- Jessica LaVine / KAI founding parent

"My daughter and I relocated from upstate NY to NYC area to give her the opportunity to spend her formative training years getting the best training available.  She has been training with Laurie Kanyok for a year now and her growth has been beyond what I could have asked for.  Additionally, the support she has been given is more than just incredible training but has also helped her to be seen by and to understand the industry she works hard to be a part of.  I firmly believe that the training and guidance from Laurie Kanyok and her company, Kanyok Arts Initiative, will prepare my daughter in the best possible way for a career in the performing arts world."

- Christopher Gattelli / Tony Award Winning Choreographer

"Kanyok Arts Initiative / Collective is the next generation of well rounded artists.  I look forward to being in the room with them one day, as they no doubt will be taking the arts by storm"

TESTIMONIALS

"Laurie Kanyok has developed a remarkable program in NYC that prepares young professionals for real world job opportunities. As a performer, Laurie was bold, intuitive, and fear

less, while having solid technical training. She brings all of those qualities to her students at KAI. Her program fills a major gap in training so that students are absolutely prepared to succeed as entertainers. I can’t recommend Laurie or the Kanyok Arts Initiative highly enough"

"This program has expanded my daughters horizon of what dance looks like in the real world outside the competition studio. The staff and instructors are working professionals that are engaging in an intimate environment with these young artists.  Along with a foundation of Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Modern and Contemporary/Improv she is being exposed to Voice and Acting for the first time.  She had various amazing performance opportunities the first year that I know she will carry with her.  She leaves every weekend with a full heart and a new commitment to her craft that she brings with her back home to her training studio.  I am so very grateful that my daughter has the opportunity to be part of the Kanyok Arts Initiative Apprentice program and I look forward to her growth because of it this upcoming year.
